Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-district partner is seeking a Substitute Registered Nurse (RN) to provide health room support across K-12 campuses when regular nursing coverage is unavailable. The role is vital in maintaining student health services and supporting learning continuity.
Responsibilities / Duties:
Deliver general health room services including assessment of student illness or injury, first-aid, and nursing interventions as needed.
Administer medications, monitor chronic health conditions, follow individualized health plans, and document care accurately.
Coordinate with school staff and families to ensure appropriate referrals for health services and follow-up.
Maintain health records and logs in compliance with district policy and Pennsylvania regulations.
Promote a safe and healthy school environment by implementing infection-control practices and health education activities.
Be flexible to cover different school sites and respond to varying schedules and student populations.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Prior experience in school health, pediatric nursing, or community health preferred.
Strong clinical judgment, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills with children, families, and school staff.
Familiarity with Pennsylvania school health regulations and procedures.
Required to complete all state clearances, including PA criminal background and child-abuse clearances.
Reliable transportation and availability to cover assignments on short notice.
