Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in a Level I Trauma teaching hospital requiring NM or compact RN licensure, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children's Hospital
• Patient ratios are typically 1:5, with possible 1:6 when hospital operates at capacity
• Floating is required to MS/Tele, PCU, lower acuity areas within skillset, and to ED with 1:5 ratios
• Shifts are night (3x12 hours, 19:00 to 7:30), with weekend requirement of 2 per 4-week schedule
• Charting is done in Cerner and Cerner experience is preferred
• Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry patients, IV starts, and providing care within Med/Surg, Tele, or PCU settings
• Facility is a large, acute care environment with over 550 staffed beds and operates at high census
• Scrub color is black and scrubs are not provided
• No on-call requirements for this position
• First time travelers are accepted
• Requests for time off greater than 10 days require approval

• Active NM or compact RN license required (pending license accepted at time of consideration)
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required
• Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
• Must have experience with IV starts and telemetry
• COVID vaccination required, with religious and medical exemptions accepted upon provider-signed exemption form
• Not open to local candidates within a 75 mile radius
