Temporary Need: 03/01/26 - 11/30/26. Eighteen (18) full time, seasonal, temporary Farm/Irrigation/Livestock Workers. Wage is $12.48/hour. Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. Applicants must have 20 days experience with farm/irrigation work and provide the contact information of at least one reference who can verify experience and performance. Must be able to lift 100lbs. Location: Work will be performed in Ogden, Utah.
Duties: Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of hay, wheat, corn, onions, squash, and cattle. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to general farm work/irrigation/crop production. Job duties include alternating shifts which include Saturday. Days may vary, but workers are only required to work five days per week, never on their Sabbath day. Job duties also require occasional irrigation duties during the night time hours. Work hours may vary and there may be periods when little or no work will be available due to weather, time of year, and the requirements of the cropping program.
Terms and Conditions of Employment: Tools, room, board, kitchen facilities and transportation provided at no cost to workers. Workers must be available for the entire work period. Workers are required to keep all property, housing, and farm buildings clean, and must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor; employee must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences from work and/or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated; must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence (minimum $16.28 and maximum $68 per day with receipts) from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed. If before the expiration date specified in the work contract, the services of the worker are no longer required for reasons beyond employer's control due to fire, weather, or other act of God that makes the fulfillment of the contract impossible, the employer may terminate the work contract. Whether such an event constitutes a contract impossibility will be determined by the Certified Officer. Employer will follow all regulations per 20 CFR sec. 655.122(0). The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage (AWER) that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed (or whichever is the highest pay rate).
